Situated approximately 2½ hours drive south-east of Auckland our Mount Maunganui 3-bedroom lockwood bach is situated a 5-minute walk from Ocean Beach, a short distance from the white sands of Papamoa Beach on one side the iconic Mount Manganui surf beach on the other.
Mount Maunganui sparkles with mile after mile of white sandy beaches where in summer the family can swim, surf, and enjoy all the water sports on offer in the area. Papamoa Beach – renowned for its surfing, is fully patrolled by life savers in the peak season, or one can surf at the iconic Mount Maunganui surf beach at the foot of Mount Maunganui. The sheltered harbour of Pilot Bay is great for swimming, paddle boarding, and launching boats and kayaks.
No visit to the area is complete without a walk along the base track of the Mount, or the worthwhile walk up to the top where you will be rewarded with magnificent views of the area. There are great cafes, shops, bars and restaurants in Mount Maunganui itself, and a diverse range of café’s, shops, and restaurants in Papamoa.
For serious golfers there are several courses in the area as well as a sheltered driving range, or for those fishermen out there deep-sea fishing trips are available.
