Approximately 5 hours drive south of Auckland and 15 minutes drive to the Chateau this 3 bedroom unit sleeping 10 is situated in National Park close to good skiing facilities at Whakapapa (19 Km) or Turoa (55 Km) and on the doorstep to the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
In winter the slopes of Mt Ruapehu accommodate two of the New Zealand's largest ski fields Whakapapa and Turoa, catering to all levels of skier and snowboarder. For the non-skier scenic chairlift rides operate on Whakapapa throughout most of the year offering spectacular views over the central North Island.
In summer there are many amazing volcanic tracks to explore around National Park, including the short two hour walk to Lake Rotopounamu. For longer and multi-day tramps one can do the Round the Mountain Track, and the world famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing and Tongariro Northern Circuits.
There are also some excellent Cycle and Mountain Biking tracks in the area including one of New Zealand's best adventure rides 42 Traverse which is a must do for experience riders, and the Fishers Track which is mostly downhill with stunning views over Tongariro National Park.

The accommodation consists of bedrooms sleeping up to 10 people - Bed 1: 1 double bed, Bed 2: 2 single beds, Bedroom 3: 6 single beds.
The Bach is fully furnished, has a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, clothes dryer, Smart TV and free Wi-Fi. In addition, a Heat Pump, oil filled heaters and fireplace heat the home in winter.
